Ellie Tsakonas, Administrative Supervisor, International Operations Manager, Langan
Ellie, born in New York, was raised in Piraeus, a suburb of Athens, Greece for the first 12 years of her life. Upon returning to the States, Ellie attended Berkeley College where she received her Associates’ degree in Paralegal Studies and subsequently graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in International Business. She is currently in the process of pursuing her Masters of Science in Business Management & Leadership from the City University of New York (CUNY).
Ellie joined the Society for Design Administration in 2012. She served as the Chair of the Programs Committee in 2014, Vice President and Chair of the Membership Committee in 2015, and currently serves as Board President for the New York Chapter for the term of 2016-2017.
As the International Operations Manager at Langan, Ellie Tsakonas was instrumental in launching Langan’s international presence, and establishing Langan International offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Doha and London. She is responsible for the day-to-day administrative operations of the New York office, mentoring and training of Administrative Assistants firm-wide, as well as legal licensing adherence, human resources, accounting and government relations for the Middle East and European operations.
Among her many accomplishments during her eight-year tenure at Langan, Ellie has implemented and streamlined licensing, payroll, and human resources processes in three different countries, set up operations training programs for the administrative staff throughout domestic and international offices, established an international contract administration protocol, as well as implemented ISO 9001 procedures for Langan International’s Middle East operations.
Since 2013, Ellie has also served as a sub-consultant to Logistics Health Incorporated, a company addressing medical readiness concerns to military service members (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, and National Guard) ensuring they are medically fit for deployment and/or post deployment. She manages the event logistics and onsite medical services hosted on military bases and reserve centers throughout the North East.
Ellie resides in Astoria, Queens, with her 20 year old son, Nicholas who’s a sophomore at CUNY.
